DO THE RIGHT THING, PASS IT ON RECYCLE YOUR OLD PHONE

Got an old phone taking up space in your sock drawer? Not sure what to do with it? Here's an idea...recycle it!

Virgin Mobile wants to make sure old phones are disposed of properly, so we offer two easy ways to recycle them:

(1) If it's a Virgin Mobile phone, you can pass it on to a friend.

(2) Or, if it's any other type of phone, send it to us to be recycled.

All profits from our recycling program go to The RE*Generation's charitable partners.* So you'll not only help Mother Earth, you'll also be helping youth in need.

*It all adds up. Virgin Mobile will donate up to $250,000 in 2007 from RE*Generation content downloads and Virgin Mobile matching donations.

PROTECT THE PLANET AND HELP TEENS IN NEED, RECYCLE YOUR OLD PHONE

Next time you visit a participating local independent wireless store, bring along that old cell phone you have lying around the house and leave it in the Virgin Mobile drop-off box. Virgin Mobile will try to reuse your phone by providing it to someone who can't afford a new phone on their own. If we can't reuse the phone, we'll recycle the parts in an environmentally correct way and 100% of any profits from this recycling program will go to The RE*Generation's charitable partners.

green tips

Did you know that only 5% of the electricity used by a cell phone charger goes to power the phone? Really. The other 95% is lost as "phantom load" when the charger is left plugged in. So, to lessen your electricity consumption and reduce global warming, unplug your phone charger when you’re not using it. Thanks!
