Is there anything I should keep in mind when chatting with other users?

Remember, there are many, many users out there. So play it safe.

Here's a good rule of thumb: Don't share anything in Social Netowkring that you wouldn't be comfortable posting publicly on the Web.

In other words, don't give out personal information such as your last name, phone number, email, or home address. And don't get fooled into sharing any personal financial information such as credit card or social security numbers. (Virgin Mobile wouldn't ask you for that sort of information through any on of the social networking sites on Social Networking.)
