How much does it cost?

If you've signed up for a Messaging Pack, your balance of messages will be decreased by one message each time you send or receive a text message within the U.S.

If you haven't signed up for a Messaging Pack, you'll be charged 10¢ each time you send or receive a text within the U.S. (Customers with active accounts that were established before 10/23/07 will be charged at the old rate of 5¢ for each text sent/received within the U.S.)

International texts cost 20¢ each to send, and 10ยข each to receive. Click here to see a list of available countries and carriers.

No. International texts are separate from monthly TXT. Sending or receiving an international text message will not count towards your monthly TXT total.

What if I receive spam?

If you feel like you're being spammed by an alert service or website service, go to the source and remove your phone number from the service. This is the same as 'unsubscribing' from an email list. If that doesn't work, try blocking the sender or, if worse comes to worse, disable text messaging on your phone.

Can I block text messages?

Can I disable text messaging on my phone so I don't have to pay for incoming messages?

Yes, you can disable text messaging on your phone. Click here to do it now. Keep in mind... if you disable text messaging, you will not be able to receive text messages on your phone. You will still receive Virgin Alert service messages from Virgin Mobile.

If you disable incoming text messages and then sign up for any text service from Virgin Mobile (like Joke of the Day) or from a third party other than Virgin Mobile, text messaging will not be automatically turned back on. That means you won't receive messages from Virgin Mobile or from that third party service until you switch text messaging back on by yourself.
