Can text messages be sent to my phone?

Yes, your phone can receive text messages in a couple of ways: A text message via email sent to "yourphonenumber@vmobl.com." Or a text message from their wireless phone.

You might want to let them know you can receive messages up to 160 characters long.

How do I read a message?

Select Messages/Messaging from your phone's Main Menu, then select Inbox. Your Inbox will have all your messages listed, unread messages are in bold.

Find the message that you want, highlight it, and hit OK.

The message will appear on the screen. If the message is longer than one screen-length, use the navigation key to scroll down the page.

To reply, erase, forward, or save the message, highlight the appropriate option and hit OK. (Note: To forward a message from the K7 Rave, select Options and then Forward.)

Who can I receive messages from?

You can receive messages from almost any email address or mobile phone capable of text messaging. (That includes international senders from over 170 countries worldwide on select carriers. Click here to see a list of available countries and carriers.)

If someone wants to send you a text from an email address, tell them to send it to: "yourphonenumber@vmobl.com".

Can I get text messages from information services like Web sites, news feeds, weather updates, etc.?

Yes. Information service providers will have different ways to set this up, but you'll probably be asked for your mobile number and/or email address. If you need to provide your mobile's email address, it is "yourphonenumber@vmobl.com."

How do I know if I get a new message?

Your phone will flash a notification that says "New Messages: 1 Text." At the same time, a small envelope icon will show up on your phone's screen. The envelope will go away once you've read all the messages in your inbox.

Call Virgin Mobile At Your Service at 1-888-322-1122 and they'll be happy to help you out.

What happens if I receive a very long message?

Messages exceeding 160 characters will get cut off and won't be visible on your phone's screen.

What if someone sends me a message and my phone is not on?

If your phone is off, the message will be stored in the network for 72 hours. If you leave your phone off for more than 72 hours, the message will be deleted and you won't receive it.

If your phone isn't in the coverage area, the message will be stored in the network for 72 hours. If you're out of coverage for more than 72 hours, the message will be deleted and you won't receive it.

What if someone tries to send me a message and my inbox is full?

If your Inbox is full, the message will be stored in the network for 72 hours. If your Inbox is full for more than 72 hours, the message will be deleted and you won't receive it.

Make sure you can receive all your new messages. Make room for them by deleting old messages.
