What are N11 codes?
N11 codes (or "N-one-one codes") are three-digit numbers that you can dial to access various services from your phone. Some standard N11 codes include:
- 211: Community information and referral services (In some parts of the country, this number is used to access organizations such as United Way.)
- 311: Non-Emergency police and government services
- 411: Directory assistance
- 511: Travel, traffic, and transportation information
- 611: Repair service
- 711: Telecommunications relay services (This number is available throughout the country for access to TTY, TDD, and other communications services for the hearing-impaired and speech-impaired.)
- 811: Call before you dig (In some parts of the country, this number is used to access notification systems to help prevent damage to underground utilities when you are digging.)
- 911: Emergency services
All Virgin Mobile phones can dial
411,
611, and
911, since these numbers have been implemented across the country and all Virgin Mobile phones are correctly configured to dial them.

What if I'm having trouble dialing an N11 code?
You might receive one of these responses when you dial a N11 code:
- a busy signal
- a recording like "The number you have dialed is incorrect or not in service" or "Your account could not be validated"
- you see "Connected" or "Connecting" on your phone's screen but the call does not connect
If that's the case, the N11 code you tried to dial probably hasn't been implemented in your area. Virgin Mobile phones are configured to call all the N11 codes listed above.
