What are Minute Packs?

A Minute Pack is a bunch of minutes you can buy for one low price on our Pay As You Go Plan. Each Minute Pack is good for 30 days. As long as you buy another Minute Pack within 30 days, unused minutes will roll forward for the next 30 days (up to 5000 minutes).

Who can buy Minute Packs?

Minute Packs are only available on our Pay As You Go Plan with Roll Forward Minutes.

Minute Packs are not available if you're on a Monthly Plan, 18¢ Talk, 20¢/10¢, $6.99/mo for 10¢/min, or any other Pay As You Go option. (Sorry.)

How do I buy a Minute Pack?

There are a few different ways to buy a Minute Pack on the Pay As You Go Plan:

1. Each time you Top-Up, we'll ask if you'd like to use the money you just added to buy a Minute Pack.

2. When you check your balance from your phone, you can buy a Minute Pack from the "My Account" screen.

3. You can also buy a Minute Pack here on the web or on your phone by going to: Menu->My Account.

You pay for Minute Packs with the money in your balance. So if you don't have enough in your balance to buy the Minute Pack you want, you'll need to Top-Up before you can buy your Minute Pack.

Minute Packs are only available on the Pay As You Go Plan with Roll Forward Minutes. If you're on a different plan and you'd like to switch to the Pay As Go Plan with Roll Forward Minutes, you can do it here on the web. You'll be able to buy a Minute Pack once you make the switch.

Do Minute Packs expire?

Each Minute Pack you buy is good for 30 days from the date of purchase. Unused minutes expire after 30 days. But as long as you buy another Minute Pack within 30 days, unused minutes will roll forward for the next 30 days (up to 5000 minutes). If you don't purchase a Minute Pack or your Minute Pack expires, minutes are 20¢ each.

How do Roll Forward Minutes work?

As long as you buy another Minute Pack within 30 days, any unused minutes you have will roll forward for the next 30 days (up to 5000 minutes). If you don't purchase another Minute Pack within 30 days, your unused minutes will expire at the end of the 30 days.

You can roll forward up to 5000 total minutes.

What happens if I use up all my minutes before my Minute Pack expires?

If you use up all your minutes without buying another Pack, you can use the money in your balance to pay for calls at a rate of 20¢/min — that's our Basic Rate.

Once you buy another Minute Pack, we'll add those minutes to your account and they'll be good for 30 days from the date of purchase.

If you don't buy another Minute Pack — and decide to keep talking at the Basic Rate — you'll need to add at least $20 every 90 days to keep your service working… even if you have money in your balance.

What happens to my Minute Pack if I change plans?

You will lose any unused minutes when you switch plans. So it's a good idea to use up all your minutes before you make the switch. You can check how many minutes you have left by logging into My Virgin Mobile. You can also check from your phone by pressing and holding the $ Key (or the up arrow). You can check your balance from your phone for free up to 5 times each day. After that, it costs 2¢ per check.

Will adding the "One Year of Service" card extend my Minute Pack?

The "One Year of Service" card will extend your service for one year on the Pay As You Go Plan, but it will not affect your Minute Pack. Minute Packs will still expire 30 days from date of purchase unless you buy another Minute Pack before the 30th day.
