How much do Data Packs cost?

The cost of Data Packs varies depending on which plan you're on.

If you're on one of our Monthly Plans:

$5 = 10 MB
$10 = 50 MB + unlimited VirginXL access
If you're on our Pay As You Go Plan:

$5 = 5 MB
$10 = 20 MB + unlimited VirginXL access
$20 = 50 MB + unlimited VirginXL access

Each Data Pack lasts for 30 days. If you use up all your megabytes before the end of your month, you will be charged Overage Rates (additional megabytes are $1.50 each and expire at the end of the current monthly period)

Can I still use data on my phone if I don't add a Data Pack?

Sure. If you don't add a Data Pack, you'll be charged for data at our Basic Rate: 1MB for $1.50 (any unused data will expire within 24 hours of purchase).

Can I switch to a different Data Pack?

You can switch Data Packs through My Virgin Mobile on your phone or here on the web.

Here's some stuff to keep in mind when you're about to switch Data Packs:

If you're on one of our Monthly Plans: You will be charged for your new Data Pack along with your next monthly charge. Until then, you'll remain on your current Data Pack. Once your next monthly charge goes through, your new Data Pack will be added to your account along with your monthly minutes.

If you're on our Pay As You Go Plan: You will lose any unused data when you buy a new Data Pack. So the best time to switch Data Packs is near the end of your month.

What happens if I was using a "Monthly Pass"?

The Monthly Pass has been replaced by Data Packs. So after your last Monthly Pass is up, you'll be asked to select a new Data Pack the next time you try to surf the web or access data services.

What happens if I switch to/from a Monthly Plan while I'm signed up for a Data Pack?

If you switch to/ from a Monthly Voice Plan while you're signed up for a Data Pack, you'll lose any unused data when you make the switch to the new voice plan. So the best time to switch plans is near the end of your month.
