How do I use backlighting?

Your phone's screen automatically backlights when you press any key.

Adjust how long the backlighting stays on by going to Menu -> Settings -> Display -> Backlighting.

If you have a translucent faceplate, you'll also see backlighting behind the number pad.

How do I lock/unlock the phone keypad?

To lock your phone, select Menu -> Settings -> Security.

You'll be asked for your code, which should be the last 4 digits of your phone number (or 0000 if you haven't activated with Virgin Mobile yet).

Once you dial in your code, select Lock Phone.

When your phone is locked, you can only call a pre-established emergency number or a Virgin Mobile service number.

Once the phone is locked, Unlock will appear on your screen instead of the Menu. You have to select Unlock and enter your code to use your phone again.

How do I change the locking code?

Select Menu -> Settings -> Security. Enter your lock code (it should be the last 4 digits of your phone number, or 000 if you haven't activated with Virgin Mobile yet). Then select Change Lock Code. Select Exit to leave your code unchanged.

How do I turn off the beep that alerts me when I get a text message?

Select Menu -> Settings -> Messaging -> Message Alert and pick the kind of notification you want to use.

How do I change my ringtone?

Select Menu -> Settings -> Sounds -> Ringer type. Pick the ringtone you want to use.

How can I set-up different ringtones for different callers?

You can set up your phone to ring differently when you receive calls from different types of contacts - business or personal. To save a contact as business or personal, select the contact in your Contact List and select Options -> Classify Contact.

To assign a number a certain ringtone to a group of contacts, select Menu -> Settings -> Sounds -> Business Call Ring or Personal Call Ring.

Note: if caller ID is not available for the number, this option will not work.

How do I change volume (ringer, headset, keypad)?

Ring volume: select Menu -> Settings -> Sounds -> Ringer Volume. Adjust ringer volume using the arrow key.

Headset volume: select Menu -> Settings -> Sounds -> Earpiece Volume.

Keypad volume: select Menu -> Settings -> Sounds -> Key Beep Volume.
